Frequently Asked Questions

How do I turn on the ring light?

Click the SoftGlow icon in your menu bar and toggle the switch to turn the light on or off. You can also adjust brightness and warmth using the sliders.

Why doesn't Ultra Bright mode work on my Mac?

Ultra Bright mode uses HDR (High Dynamic Range) capabilities. It works best on MacBooks with XDR or Liquid Retina XDR displays, and external HDR-compatible monitors. On standard displays, you may not see a significant difference.

Will SoftGlow drain my battery?

SoftGlow is designed to be efficient, but displaying bright light does use additional power. The built-in auto-off timer will automatically turn off the light after 1 hour to prevent accidental battery drain.

Can I use SoftGlow with multiple monitors?

Yes! SoftGlow automatically detects all connected displays and creates light overlays on each one. When you connect or disconnect monitors, it adjusts automatically.

The light overlay is blocking my clicks

The overlays are designed to be click-through, meaning you can interact with everything behind them. If you're experiencing issues, try restarting the app. If the problem persists, please contact support.

How do I quit SoftGlow completely?

Click the SoftGlow icon in the menu bar, then click "Quit" at the bottom of the menu.
